Moto Hagio
Hagio Moto is a manga artist born in 1949 Fukuoka Prefecture, and will be honored with the Cultural Merit Award in 2019.
After graduating from Nihon Designer Gakuin, he made his debut in 1969 with “Lulu and Mimi”. He has won many awards, including the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1976 for “Poe’s Family” and “There Are 11!”
In 2011, she received the 40th Japan Cartoonists Association Award and the Minister of Education Award. In 2012, she became the first girl manga artist to receive the Medal with Purple Ribbon. In 2017, She received The Asahi Prize.
